THE DOMINICAN Church building repair fund hosts a black tie midsummer ball in the Westcourt Hotel on Saturday June 24 with very special guest, George Hook.

Tickets for the event are in the mass office at the Dominican and details also from the Westcourt Hotel.

It promises to be a night not to be missed.

Golf classic for Hospice group

THE Drogheda and East Meath Hospice Foundation will benefit from the 22nd annual golf classic at Laytown and Bettystown GC on Friday June 2. The event has raised over e300k for the groups down the years.

Band in concert

A perfect day out. The multi award winning Drogheda Brass Band will play a selection of classic and contempora­ry music in the walled garden at Oldbridge House on Sunday June 4 from 2-4pm. They also appear at the garden on Sunday August 6 and Sunday September 3.

Great Expectatio­ns

ONE of the classics, Great Expectatio­ns, presented by the Chapterhou­se Theatre Group, is coming to Oldbridge House on Saturday July 15. Details from Droichead Arts Centre. They also present The Wind in the Willows on Saturday August 5th.

Tough Mudder in Loughcrew

THIS year’s Tough Mudder event takes place at Loughcrew Adventure Centre in Oldcastle on July 8.

Do Tough Mudder for the NorthEast Cancer Unit & Raise Funds for Life Saving Cancer Treatments.

The focus of the charity is to provide funding for activities that will improve the treatment and outcomes of people with cancer in Louth, Meath, Cavan, Monaghan and North County Dublin. This helps keep cancer treatment services at the cutting edge.

The charity also funds cancer research that is essential to improving the ability to successful­ly treat people with cancer from across the region.
