St Kevin’s host June 24 hooley

THERE’S a hooley at the cross!

St. Kevin’s G.A.A, Philipstown are holding their inaugural Barn dance on the 24th June, in the club’s adjoining community centre. Tickets are €20 and are available in Ardee, Collon & Dunleer. Proceedings will start with a jiving competition and a live set headlined by the renowned Texas Wildcats, and dancing will continue with DJ Gerry McGee til late. Prizes will be given to the top three pairs on the night! In what promises to be an exciting night barbeque food will be served, and a licenced bar will be available. The event is strictly over 18’s.

In preparation for the competition, the G.A.A club is hosting jiving lessons in the Community Centre. After a successful first session last week, the lessons will run until June 24th every Wednesday evening at 8 pm and cost €5 a night.

Barry Bonar, Secretary of the Kevin’s G.A.A, said: “We are excited to host a barn dance this year on the 24th of June. We hope it brings in much-needed funds for our club and community. The jiving lessons leading up to this event will further add to our clubs focus on health and well-being. We look forward to running a successful event and hope to see a big turn-out.”
