Volunteers for Maritime Festival
VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help out at the upcoming Irish Maritime Festival.
The event is the biggest annual maritime event in the country and sees Drogheda Port transformed from a working port into a bright and colourful festival site.
Ships arrive on Friday 9th June and the festival takes place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th June from 11.00-6.00pm
‘Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or a first timer, the Irish Maritime Festival is a wonderful opportunity to get involved and be part of a really big and exciting event,’ said Con O’Donoghue, one of the festival team for Drogheda’s Irish Maritime Festival.
Con continued: ‘From tall ships to aerial acrobats, from food to live music there is something for everybody at the Irish Maritime festival and being a volunteer is a wonderful opportunity to be part of this spectacular event. It’s also great fun.’
He concluded: ‘If you’d like to be part of the volunteer team call myself or Karen on 041 9830142. You can email us on info@wlc. ie or you can drop in to Grainne and the team at the Louth Volunteer Centre in Bolton Street. Everyone is welcome to our volunteer information evening on Tuesday 6th June at Barlow House.’
