Cuchulainn Gaels U-12s had a great win over St Pat’s last Tuesday night in Lordship. They held the Pat’s scoreless in the first half while registering 2-6 themselves, and playing with a breeze this should have been more.

In the second half the Cu’s powered on and although the breeze picked up they again overpowered the opposition with fast, strong play. The Pat’s did register 3 goals, but these were their only scores and they could not pull back the deficit. Best for the Cu’s were the Walker twins, Jamie Molloy, the sharkey brothers and Jacob Dunleavy, although a very well-done to all the players is deserved.

Cuchulainn Gaels/Cooley U14s had a shaky start to their clash with Hunterstown last Wednesday night in Ardee. At half-time they were down by 4pts with a scoreline of 3-7 to 5-5.

They regrouped well and kicked on from their strong finish to the first half, holding Hunterstown to a point in the entire second half - final score Cu’s/ Cooley 6-20 Hunterstown 5-6. All Omeath lads played, with Dylan, Calum, Paul and Colm starting and Christopher coming on at half-time. Well done lads.

Congratulations to Bush Post Primary School who won the O’Moore Cup at under 14 level .They had a tight first half, coming out on top by two points, but in the second half Bush pulled away, winning by 12 points at the end.

Well done the lads from the Omeath area - Dylan Quinn, Colm Keenan, Calum O’Hanlon, Paul and Sean Brennan, Oisin Mallon, Cain Reilly , Lochlainn O’Conboirne. Our own 6 Cuchulainn Gaels men Sean Brennan, Dylan Quinn, Paul Brennan, Calum O’Hanlon and Calum Fearon played the full game and the rest came on as subs. Dylan scored a goal and a point and Calum got 2-3. The team was made up of players from Roche, Cooley, Gaels and Pats.

ON Saturday morning, Roche made their annual pilgrimage to Clonduff to participate in their U12 tournament.

The weather gods smiled favourably on the teams as the conditions remained dry and sunny for all the competition. Communion and the previous night’s U11 action reduced the squad to eleven stalwarts.

The lads played four group games winning two (against Teconnaught and Culloville) and lost against Newry Shamrocks and the hosts Clonduff. The lads played well especially in their win against a very good Culloville side.

They also scored a sensational goal in this match that began with a brilliant turnover by Sean Connolly, followed by some fantastic passing interplay and culminated with Luke O’Connell smashing the onion sack with a rocket!

They fell at the Shield quarter final stage against a very good Carrickcruppen team, but everybody enjoyed a great day’s football.
