OUR weekend competition was sponsored by TW Menswear, Carrickmacross and it was won by Patrick Magee on a count back with a score of 40 points.

Jason Donnelly, who is never far from the podium places, came second with the same score and Barry Finnegan was a point further behind in third.

The Thursday open was won this week by Ivor Lutton with an impressive 43 points. John Min- nock took second place in the open with 39 points.

On Sunday we had a few of our inter club teams in action. Our Sam Rutherford, captained by Martin Mills, had a tough day at home to Lisburn and go in to the away leg with a nine hole deficit to make up.

The Rossmore Cup team, captained by David Hanratty, take a 3-1 lead into their away leg against Banbridge. Our All Ireland Mixed Foursomes team, captained by Mark Lambe and Karen Forrester successfully qualified in Clones and now face Donegal Golf Club in the same venue on June 4th.

It was the end of the road for two of our ladies teams today on Sunday. Our AIG Minor Cup Team captained by Deanna McGuinness beaten 3-2 by Headfort GC in 3rd round of AIG Minor Cup on neutral ground of Kilcock Golf Club.

Our AIG Challenge Cup Team captained by Madleine Devine lost out 3-2 to our neighbours Ardee in the Island Golf Club. The match finished late with the last match being lost on the 20thhole.

Our AIG Junior Foursomes team, captained by Rita O’Loughlin, were beaten in Baltray by Malahide.

All our matches were played in a very sporting manner and we wish our victors the best of luck as they advance in each competition.
