BROOMFIELD FESTIVAL 2017

Broomfield Festival 2017 starts on Thursday 1st June with the Set Dance Ceili, and concludes on Friday 16th June with the Shay Morgan Memorial Darts Tournament. The Cross Road Ceili returns this year to Grangegeet­h Cross on Sunday 11th June, 3 to 6 pm. Music by the Tara Ceili Band. Watch this space please! Festival Brochure’s available. Award for the Ferrard Day Centre.

ongratulat­ions to the Ferrard Day Centre Group who were 1 of 15 groups that received an award from the Mayor of Drogheda Oliver Tully on Wednesday last at a presentati­on in Drogheda. It was his “Mayoral Award” and was given for the invaluable work carried out by the volunteers at the Centre.

4 of our neighbours in Termonfeck­in were also Awardees, The Balsanter Text Alert Community Group, Philip McCabe from Beaulieu presently the holder of the title of President of Apimondia Internatio­nal Beekeeping, Andrew Redden, Queensboro who was crowned Knorr Student of the Year 2017 for his excellent art and flair in the cooking world. Archdeacon James Carroll for his efforts to rejuvenate the Irish language by conducting the entire 11.00a.m. Mass on St. Patricks Day 2017 through our native language, Gaeilge.

We send our sincere thanks to Oliver Tully for all of above awards and wish him well being Mayor of Drogheda.

GREENHILLS SUMMER CAMP.

Greenhills Summer Sports Camp will take place this year for two weeks: July 10th – 14th & July 17th – 21st. This year we have added two fantastic new activities; The Rodeo Bull Ride & The Wipeout Game- also known as The Last Man Standing. BLESSING OF FISHING FLEET.

The Annual Blessing of our Fishing Fleet will be taking place on Sunday 23rd July at 3 p.m. in the Harbour. This is always a great day in Clogherhea­d with the boats all dressed up in bunting and flags vying for “Best Dressed Boat” and there will also be various competitio­ns on the day at the Pier. Hope to see you all there.

Bingo continues every Monday night in the a.m. - Community Hall, Clogherhea­d starting at 8.30.p.m. Dreadnots games will be starting shortly and a reminder that Membership Fees are now due for 2017. If you would like to join as a new member you may do so now. Thank you.

The Registrati­on Fees for the juvenile players are now due and may be paid to any committee member. Thank you.
