Memorial plaque to be unveiled at railway station

On Sunday next 11th June a new plaque will be unveiled at 12 noon at Drogheda Railway Station. Railway enthusiasts from all around Drogheda are invited to attend. Particularly families whose fathers or grandfathers might have worked at Drogheda station for Great Northern Railways. All are welcome.

Jim Prendergast’s late father James worked with the GNR in the North East from 1915 until his retirement from CIE in 1960. Following consultation with Iarnrod Eireann, Jim has been given permission to erect a plaque at Drogheda Station in memory of his father and his GNR colleagues.
