Grimes to the ‘four’ in victory

MEATH ladies’ first foray in the Intermedia­te ranks proved a winning one as they registered a comfortabl­e victory at Pairc Tailteann on Sunday.

Seneschals­town’s Stacey Grimes proved the star of the show for the Meath girls, scoring 4-1.

Grimes’ opening goal came from the penalty spot following a foul on Niamh O’Sullivan which resulted in a sin-binning for the offender.

St Patrick’s Emma White accounted for a second goal and Fiona O’Neill also found the net before Grimes struck for her second goal.

Meath eventually led 4-3 to 0-4 at the break and the one-way nature of the game continued in the second half as Grimes added to her goal tally.

Meath’s next outing sees them take on Wexford in Dunshaughl­in on Sunday at 2.30pm.
