Medal joy for Liam in javelin

DUNLEER AC’s talented youngsters impressed on the national stage at the weekend as Liam Connaughton added to his large haul of medals with Intermediate javelin silver at the All-Ireland Schools Track & Field Championships.

Connaughton produced a huge throw of 54.61m, missing out on gold by just 15cm, and he will be a popular figure when he attends the Dunleer AC Summer Camp in Drogheda’s Lourdes Stadium on July 10th.

Also competing at the All-Irelands at the weekend was Emma Cheshire who finished an excellent fifth in the Senior Girls long jump with 5.23m.
