Great local acts come together to back the TLT fundraiser
Dear Sir,
The entertainment fraternity in Drogheda have come forward and offered their services for a special concert to take place in the TLT on Friday the 16th of June at 8pm.
This is a marvellous gesture in response to recent a plea made by TLT proprietor, Tommy Leddy, to retain the controlling interest in running the theatre.
The line-up will include some of Drogheda’s foremost entertainers in choral / orchestral music, soloists and maybe one or two other surprises on the evening.
Those who have come forward to provide their services are; The Drogheda Male Voice Choir, The award winning Lourdes Junior and Senior Brass Bands along with the excellent Orchestra Collective. Soloists will include, Soprano, Amie Dyer, Timmy Regan and John Moonan of the DMVC and the compere for the evening will be lovely Niamh Leddy.
This is an overwhelming response by all of these various local musical entities and individuals to come forward and, not alone offer their services, but provide the Drogheda public with a night to remember.
They want to see the TLT retained in the management of the person who put so much effort into providing the facility for the town of Drogheda.
Indeed, they would also welcome a much wider audience on the night from those who enjoy shows in the TLT to come along and support the concert.
At one time or another, the TLT has exhibited all aspects of the towns entertainment culture including performers, artists, choirs, dancers, orchestras and musicians during its existence and this concert is their way of showing their appreciation to Tommy Leddy and his staff.
