Speeding on the Crook Road is condemned

SPEEDING cars on the Crook Road in Mornington are causing real headaches for local residents.

Cllr Eimear Ferguson raised the matter at a recent council meeting, stating that ‘cars are speeding up and down the straight road to the former fishmeal factory.’

‘ There are real fears for people walking on the road,’ she added.

Council officials said it was a matter for the gardai as it was a speed control issue.

She also made reference to the old boathouse in the area and that fires were being set in it.

The council are to pass those concerns on to the environmental department.
