50 BEAUTIFUL YEARS.

Congratulations to Kevin and Elizabeth (Betty) Kelly (above right) who were 50 years married on Monday 5th June. Apparently, Kevin, who was originally from Beaulieu and Betty from Yellowbatter, met on Termonfeckin Bridge, for their first date. However, there wasn’t any troubled waters beneath this particular arch over and their resultant 7 kids (Jim, Stephen, Mark, Gillian, Darren, Janice and Karl) and 19 grandkids are somewhat testament to this.

Whilst, as a couple, they’ve been living a varied lifestyle, there also has been a few constants. Galway, for example, was their honeymoon of choice and its also the county where they’ll celebrate their Golden Anniversary. There weren’t many summers either, that they didn’t holiday in France, with and without the kids.

As well as loving each other, Kevin’s gra is motorbiking and Betty’s, power walking (if you are wondering if walking is good for you, check out Betty) Somehow, Kevin squeezed in 40 years with Bus Eireann and Betty at home, looking after 7 wonderful kids and THEIR subsequent kids.

To mark their special occasion, Fr Hickey celebrated mass with family and selected friends. Here’s to many, many more years together Betty and Kevin
