Ulster Bank opens branch in Drogheda

The decision of the directors of the Ulster Bank to establish a branch in the town, despite the fact that there are five banks operating at the present time, is an indication of the confidence which you have in the further prosperity of Drogheda,” said the Mayor, Coir. P. Martin, when he officially opened the new branch premises in West Street.

Mr. Martin expressed the hope that the Bank would share in the; prosperity of the town and play its part in stimulatin­g the further expansion of the economy. Speaking of the building itself, which is estimated to have cost in the region of £35,000, Mr. Martin said it was a beautiful structure, which would grace the main street and enhance its appearance very much.

He welcomed the manager of the branch, Mr. Daniel P. Fay, and the personnel of the bank to town and hoped that they could look forward to many years of happy and fruitful relationsh­ips all round.
