Peter Meehan opens first town laundrette

PETER Meehan opened the first laundrette in the borough of Drogheda, situated on Dyer Street.

Laundrettes were first introduced into the United States where they became an instant hit. More recently they came to Dublin. It is felt the new venture in Drogheda will prove a success for the Mell born businessman.

It has eight washing machines and four driers and for just 2/6 customers can have 9lbs of laundry washed twice and rinsed four times.

It will open from 9am to 9pm.
