KNOCKBRIDGE

-

NEXT weekend sees our U14 knockbridge/Pearse Og team head to kilkenny to represent louth in the national feile hurling competition. Barrow Rangers based in Paulstown are our hosts and as well as playing them we face teams from Carlow and Cavan in the group stage. The team have trained hard under our mentors Sean Byrne, John O’ Brien, Seamus Cahill and Robert Wallace and everyone wishes them the best of luck over the weekend. OUR senior hurlers made it two wins out of two in the league with a hard fought 1-12 to 0-12 victory over Pearse Og. Played in very wet conditions the game was decided when a long range effort from Shane Fennel deceived everyone to finish in the back of the net. It was not a vintage performance but we are happy with the result. Next up is a game with St. Fechins this coming thursday. OUR U8 hurlers had an enjoyable outing in a recent blitz held in Darver. Plenty of skill was shown by all our young hurlers as well as winning all their games. This tuesday our U10’s are in action when we travel to Philipstown to play St. Kevins. FINALLY there is a hurling only Cul Camp in Darver from July 3th to July 7th. We hope as many as possible young hurlers support this camp.
