OUR U14 team travel to compete at the National Feile na nGael this Friday afternoon (June 16) where they will be hosted by Burren Rangers of Carlow. The team warmed up for the trip with a good 8-7 to 4-3 victory over Killeavy in a challenge match at the DKIT last Friday evening.

The other two teams in their group in Div 7 will be Ballinastr­agh Gaels (Wexford) and Castleblan­ey (Monaghan) both of whom they will play on Friday evening at Kilanerin. We wish the team, management and supporters every success next weekend.

Darver was the venue last Tuesday evening (June 6) for an entertaini­ng U8 Coaching & Games Blitz where our young boys and girls played games against St Fechins, Pearse Og and Knockbridg­e ‘A’. The Moninne panel was Ciaran Maguire, Oisin Maguire, Noah Goss, Ronan Goss, Ewen McCourt, Orla McCourt, Maeve O Hora, Grace Cairns and Josh Horwell.

Our senior team put in a good performanc­e losing narrowly by 0-14 to 0-10 to senior champions St Fechins in Beaulieu in round 2 of the senior league last Thursday evening. The Moninne scorers were Darren O Hanrahan (0-4), Diarmuid Murphy (0-3), Tadhg Moore (0-2) and Collins Connolly (0-1). The team will play Castleblan­ey in the Tain League this Tuesday night at the DKIT at 7.30pm.

Also on Tuesday evening our young U10 team will play Pearse Og in the League at the DKIT at 7.30pm.

Five Moninne boys were on the Louth U17 panel that beat Mayo by 3-10 to 2-2 in the Celtic Challenge Div 5 quarter final at Abbotstown Centre on Saturday afternoon. They were Darren Geoghegan (17), Ultan McEneaney (1-0), Padraic Fallon (0-1), Ciaran McGlynn and Eoghan O Hora. They now play Roscommon in the Semi Final next weekend.

This year’s Naomh Moninne Hurling Cul Camp will again take place in Dowdallshi­ll from Monday July 31 to Friday August 4 and the cost of the camp is €60. An All County Hurling Cul Camp will take place in Darver from Monday July 3 to Friday July 7.
