Timely boost for Dunleer’s Leavy

Dunleer AC’s Erinn Leavy smashed her personal best for 600m when clocking a superb time of 1:43.59 to win the Leinster Under-12 Championship in Tullamore on Saturday last.

After landing a National Cross-Country title last year, Erinn looks well set to achieve a fantastic track and field season this summer.

Also performing well in Tullamore were Erinn’s Dunleer clubmates Evan Costello and Conor Brennan who won silver in the Leinster Pairs Under-10 300m.

Then, on Sunday, there was more joy for Dunleer as their ace shot-putter Karlis Kaugars won the provincial title at Under-13 level with a throw of 12.40m, just 5cm short of the Leinster record in that age group.

Erinn Leavy is all smiles after winning the Leinster Under-12 600m in a personal best time.
