M&S HELP RAISE €2K FOR SOSAD

-

TO build on the success of the first 10 Years of Plan A, Marks & Spencer has launched a new sustainability plan - Plan A 2025. The aim is to support communities across Ireland and the UK, helping people to live happier healthier lives and becoming a zero-waste business.

The crew at M&S Drogheda pledged their support to SOSAD, helping to repair rooms in the SOSAD support centre and the staff joined forces and raised an outstanding €2,600 through in-store bag packing for the service.

Tom Duff, Store Manager at M&S Drogheda, said: “Sadly there has been a growing number of suicide cases in our area so it is a cause that we all feel very strongly about supporting. We really enjoyed coming together as a team to re-decorate the support rooms. Volunteering can make a profound difference to the communities in which we live and work in – we believe that lots of the small actions from lots of people, can collectively have a huge impact.”

Elaine Byrne, Coordinator of SOSAD commented: “We would like to thank the staff from Marks & Spencer Drogheda for choosing to pledge their volunteer hours to help us with this project. Volunteering and fundraising is essential to ensure we are delivering and constantly evolving our services, thus enabling us to make a tremendous difference to lives of these children and the families in the local community.”
