FARMERS MARKETS
Sonairte continue their weekly farmers market each Sunday from 11am. Join us each Sunday, to mix with the locals, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the wide range of stalls, while being amazed at how Organic producers mix well with interesting Irish crafts and Multicultural foods. Make it a day out for the whole family, everyone is welcome.
MEATH LOURDES PILGRIMAGE
This pilgrimage will take place from Sept 12th until the 17th Sept and will be led by bishop Michael Smith. The fare is €729 for full board including insurance and travel taxes. In relation to any person that might be in hospital or a sick person in our community who might wish to go on this pilgrimage, anyone who may know someone in the area who would like to go please contact 041-27384. B–5 BETTYSTOWN 5 MILE
Registration is open for the B-5 sponsored once again by NSP. Taking place on Tuesday 18th July. The race starts at 8pm (walkers start at 7:40) There is a free t-shirt to the first 300 registered. We are giving a fantastic medal to all Finishers. Like last year we are doing all cash prizes to the value of over €2000. We have a special Bring a Buddy Rate of €17.50 each (Individual price is €20). We have group rates for 15 or more people for €15 (plus online transaction fee) Spread the word please because when the first 300 are registered these T-shirts are gone. SANDCASTLE COMPETITION
The 15th annual National Sandcastle & Sand Sculpturing Festival 2017 takes place on Bettystown beach on Sunday 2nd July. The fun begins at 10.30am for the sculpting and 2.30pm for the sandcastles. With judging and prizegiving at 4.30pm. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Prizes are up for grabs in each of the following categories in the Sandcastles ~ Under 5yrs ~ Under 8yrs ~ Under 13yrs ~ Family. Admission €2 each. Junior and Senior Sculpture winners will receive cash prizes with Top Prize €300. The Dick O’Reilly Perpetual Cup is presented to whomever the judges deem to have given the best effort on the day, across all of the categories ~ so give it all you’ve got!
