Fire fighters hosting a car wash day in support of Hannah Donnelly

BIG HEARTED Drogheda fire fighters are asking for your support for a wonderful young lady.

Hannah Donnelly is presently in Temple Street Hospital following an operation is expected to be there for some time.

As part of a fundraisin­g campaign to help out her family, members of the Drogheda fire service will hold a car wash on Saturday June 24th from 10am to 6pm.

It will be based on the forecourt at the station on the Donore Road.

Cake sale at the Boomerang

DROICHEAD Átha No Name Club are keeping very busy and have two fundraiser­s coming up. The first is a Flag day on Thursday 29th, 9am-6pm in Drogheda. The second is a coffee morning and bake sale on Friday July 7th, 10am-1pm in Boomerang. They will have entertainm­ent such as music/bingo at this event.

The big event that everyone is looking forward to is the first official Club night in Mc Hughs Venue on Friday 14th July from 7-11, admission €5 with Band (TBC) and DJ and ticket for free draw. Strictly 15-18’s only. (ID, Student cards etc. required). Tickets can be purchased in Boomerang, Fair St, Drogheda.

Greenhills reunion

The Greenhills class of 1972-77 are holding a class reunion to mark the 40th anniversar­y of the end of their schooldays.

The Reunion will take place on Friday, June 23rd in the Glenside Hotel at 7.30pm. Buffet meal €20, paid in advance. Please contact Fiona Coleman Reilly 086.6861647 for more details.

School summer camp

A Summer Camp will be held in Scoil Naomh Feichin from July 3rd to 7th, daily from 10am to 2pm. It is open to all Primary Scoil children aged 4-8 including those who are due to start school in September. Children who do not attend the school are also welcome.

There are many activities including games, sports, music, arts, crafts and lots more. For further informatio­n, contact 087-6552094. Enrolment forms are also available at the school.

Greenhills camp

The Greenhills summer sports Camp will take place this year for two weeks: July 10th to the 14th and July 17th to the 21st. This year they have added two fantastic new activities; The Rodeo Bull Ride & The Wipeout Game- also known as The Last Man Standing. Barney to face Van Gerwen

THE Barney Army meets the Green Machine at the TLT on September 27th for an eagerly awaited darts exhibition.

Champion of the world, Mighty Michael Van Gerwen takes on his Dutch compatriot Raymond Van Barneveld.

John McDonald from Sky Sports is the MC on the night and referee is George Noble.

The players will play a best of 13 set match and there will be a raffle and auction on the night with great prizes including memorabili­a and a chance to play against MVG or RVB on the night!

Standard tickets are €30 and VIP tickets are priced at €70. Note that the VIP tickets include a meet and greet with the two players before the exhibition as well as a priority seat for the event. These tickets are very limited.

There is no age restrictio­n on the show and the doors open at 7pm. Full details from the TLT.

Cancer Support Centre classic

NOW is the time to get your entry in for the annual Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre golf classic, which is taking place at Seapoint GC on Friday June 30th.

As ever, a big entry is expected and more details on entering can be had by contacting the centre.

Rossin run

For the second year running Rossin Rovers will be hosting the 5k heritage run/walk this August 26th. Set in the picturesqu­e area of Newgrange, the Rossin Rovers 5k course will provide participan­ts with a challenge and breathtaki­ng scenery.

The route passes directly by the Newgrange passage tomb. Refreshmen­ts will be available afterwards in the nearby Dolly Mitchell’s. Registrati­on is now open and the first 150 adults to register receive a Free technical t-shirt.

It is a chip/timed event managed by myrunresul­ts.com and is open to runners/ walkers and families of all abilities and fitness levels.
