Cream rises to the top in Allianz finals

-

THE Allianz all-county primary school football finals were held in The Grove for both girls and boys recently.

With every school in the county invited to compete over the course of three rounds of blitzes, four finalists battled it out to take home the silverware.

In the girl’s competition, Kilkerley, Tullyallen, Ballapousta and Bellurgan locked horns in six very evenly contested matches.

The girls from Ballapousta just edged out the rest to add to their victory in October’s Corn Seán Mac Cába.

Monastery Ardee, Tinure, Knockbridge and Scoil Muire na nGael contested the boy’s finals with a winner-takes-all decider between Monastery and Knockbridge sending the trophy to the very worthy winners from Ardee.

During the presentation Cumann na mBunscol thanked Allianz for their continued support, O’Connellls GFC for the continued use of their fine facilities and the teachers and parents who give up their time to help enrich the skills of the game in primary schools throughout the county.
