PUNTER’S SOCIETY

-

THE society held its fourth outing of the year at Coorstown Golf Club, Kilsallaghan.

The weather was very humid and overcast with outbreaks of sunshine all afternoon long. The course was in excellent condition apart from the bunkers which weren’t up to the same standards as the rest of the course. Yes we do know you shouldn’t be in the bunkers!

Apart from that it didn’t stop the enjoyment of the 18 players that took to the course for their round of golf.

At the top of the class in category 1 was Buster Carroll with a score of 35 points with Eamonn O’Farrell coming in second on 31 points. With a fantastic score of 41 points was Pete Clarke in category 2 who certainly burned up the course on the day, Congratulations. Second in category 2 was Noel McGill on 34 points.

After the golf the players returned to the clubhouse for soup and sandwiches which were very tasty and excellent quality as part of the society deal on offer at the club.

Later in the evening the prizes were presented to the winners on the day in the Punters Bar. Our thanks go to Ronan Hoey for his culinary skills with the BBQ later in the evening.

Thanks also once again for the safe transport to and from the venue by Paul Curran. Lastly, thank you to the staff of the Punters Bar for the great service.

Marching on, next on the agenda is Captain Andrew Lynch’s Prize, which will take place at Knightsbrook GC, Trim on 12th July, with a tee-off time of 1pm. We look forward to seeing as many players there as possible. Fore!
