SYDDAN GFC

The club are holding a family fun & sports day in Syddan pitch on June 24th from 1pm – 6pm, and when you recover from that you can join the club on Tuesday June 27th at 8pm when they are holding a 4 mile fun run/walk in the parish. Registration Monday 26th June 7-9pm @ Ludlow park. Entry fee runners €15, walkers €10. Honour for Paddy

Congratulations to Paddy Meade on his appointment of Cathaoirleach (Chairman/Mayor) of Laytown / Bettystown municipal district. This area includes: East Meath, Slane, Duleek, South Drogheda, Seneschalstown, Lobinstown, Julianstown, Mornington and the Meath parts of both Collon and Tullyallan.

TRIP TO MESSINES

Local man Brendan Weldon made the trip to Messines, Flanders, Belgium (Wytschaete Cemetery) for a ceremony to mark the centenary of the battle of Messines ridge where his grand uncle John Halpin was killed in action on 07-06-1917. He was joined at the graveside by Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Prince William and Princess Astrid of Belgium.
