David Ayer’s gruelling and compelling­ly realistic war film stars Brad Pitt as Dan Colier, the commander of an M4 Sherman tank that sees heavy action in the final days of World War II as Allied Forces converge on Berlin. Outwardly gruff and taciturn, Collier is determined to keep his crew alive but, as they engage more frequently with the enemy, losses become inevitable.

DRAMA RIVIERA, SKY ALTLANTIC, THURSDAY 9PM

Julia Styles heads the cast of this lush drama, playing Georgina Clios, an American art dealer whose idyllic life on the Cote d’Azur is shattered when her billionair­e husband is murdered. This week, Georgina is told that her husband’s dealings are being investigat­ed by Interpol, forcing her to make a deal with a kingpin in the Riviera underworld, starring Anthony LaPaglia and Roxanne Duran.

SPORT BRITISH AND IRISH LIONS TOUR, SKY SPORTS 1, SATURDAY 7.30AM

An early rise for the first of the Lions test matches against the All Blacks. The tourists have had a mixed bag of results to date on this tour, which has become a corporate and commercial giant. Last Saturday they defeated the Maori All Blacks, 32-10 in their most impressive performanc­e to date.

The side was superbly led by Munster man Peter O’Mahony and Sean O’Brien, Johnny Sexton, Conor Murray and Tadhg Furlong also excelled. To be selected to play for the Lions is a huge honour for any home player, to beat New Zealand on their home patch would be a highlight of any Lions’ player’s careers

FACTUAL GAA Nua, RTÉ Two, Monday 7.30pm

Dara O Cinneide hosts this new four-part series, the first of which was screened on Monday night, which takes a fresh look at Ireland’s native sport, travelling around the island to see how Gaelic have embraced science and technology so the participan­ts can improve their on-field performanc­es. The blood, sweat and tears of old fashioned competitio­n are always evident, however.
