- By HUBERT MURPHY

SOSAD are urging as much support as possible for their forthcoming 5k For Life run, walk and jog on Friday, July 21.

‘I hope it doesn’t rain this time!,’ Peter Moroney from the group stated at last week’s launch in Aura on Marley’s Lane, where the big race will start from.

‘It would be great to get 1,000 to take part. It is a vital fundraiser for us, the biggest of our year,’ he stated.

The race starts at 7pm and it is backed by State Street, Eurospar and Aura. It’s €12 to enter and details are at eventbrite.

‘State Street will have about 50 taking part and they are great supporters. Derek Moran in Eurospar is another big support and provides us with water and whatever. That all helps us greatly on the night,’ Peter remarked.

There will be water stations and music as well on the night.
