Footpath along busy Blackrock road considered

Calls for a footpath along the busy Rock Road, and both ends of the Old Golf Links road were heard at the June meeting.

Cllr. Maria Doyle raised the issue, saying there was a real strength of feeling in the area about the issue as it was a widely used road by walkers, joggers and people out with prams

The meeting heard that a scheme to upgrade the road and install footpaths had been approved but was not carried out due to funding constraint. ‘ The council will conduct a survey to establish the feasibility of improving footpath provision for consideration in the 2018 programme.’
