-

The school had their fun day last week.

It was held in conjunction with an “Ice-cream Party” in aid of Down Syndrome. Paddy Holcroft from the HUB in Dunleer organised an ice-cream for every child which were given out after the activities.

A short flag raising ceremony also took place.

The school celebrated a 6th green flag for GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP LITTER & WASTE.

Jackie explained the night. “The night started off with the children lighting their graduation candle. They then sang the World Peace Day song – light a candle for peace. Each of the pupils was presented with a class certificate which stated they attended Playmates Montessori School for one two or three years.

Following this they were presented with their Letter certificates: This was an emotional certificate really especially for the teachers. The teachers wrote a letter to each pupil and presented it on the night. We wrote about how much we have seen them grow and flourish over their time with us. They were than written up and printed off in certificate style.

The children than presented their parents with their graduation gift bag which included their certificates, graduation candle, a set of handprints with the hand print poem and a personalized CD of photos taken of them during their time in the school. After photos were taken and the children removed their cap and gowns we had a variety of songs that the children picked from throughout the year. They all sang really well and their parents and teachers were so proud of them

We finished off with the children performing “Big Big Girl in a Big Big world” the boys sang “Boy” and they were fantastic. It was a lovely evening filled with emotion and pride”.

Each family can now cherish the memory of Playmates Montessori School with a disc of photo’s, hand prints and poem, Personalised graduation candle, graduation booklet, two certificates and lot of memories. The children enjoyed the party held after while the parents relaxed with tea coffee and a nice slice of the graduation cake.
