ROCHE EMMETS ST KEVINS 1-11 0-11

ROCHE Emmets maintained top spot in Division 3 on score difference with a hard-earned victory over St Kevins.

The defeat leaves the Philipstown side’s title hopes all but over as Roche and Glyde look set to fight it our for the title and the automatic promotion spot.

Roche led 1-7 to 0-4 at halftime with their goal coming from a Barry O’Hare penalty after he had been taken down by the Kevins keeper who was punished with a yellow card.

Roche did have a let off in the first half when the away team rattled the crossbar with a fierce strike.

The Kevins came at Roche strongly in the second half, with Cian Callan impressing at midfield, kicking four points over the hour.

However, Roche stood firm and four more points from the home team were enough to see them take the win and stay at the summit.
