NH FIONNBARRA OLIVER PLUNKETTS 3-13 1-9

NAOMH Fionnbarra continued their perfect record in Division 2 as they swept past Oliver Plunketts with 10 points to spare in a balmy John Markey Park on Tuesday evening.

A barren spell of seven minutes was ended by a free from William Woods after he himself was fouled, before Woods and Jack Butterly added further points to reduce the gap to 1-2 to 0-4.

The Barrs burst to life on 22 minutes as they finally clicked with a flowing move involving Hugh Osborne, Bernard Osborne and Woods with Hugh Osborne scoring an excellent goal to help the hosts lead by 1-5 to 1-4 at the break.

The Barrs struck early points from Woods and Butterly but the Plunketts hit back to level with scores from Emmet Kelleher, Conor Early and Robbie Brodigan. The next four points were shared to leave the game tied with nine minutes remaining but it was the Barrs who dominated the closing stages and goals from Conor Osborne and Jack Butterly saw them record another impressive victory.
