€300 fine for cannabis

A man found in possession of cannabis has been fined € 300 at Drogheda District Court.

Tony Mitchell (36) with an address at McDonaghs Caravan Park, Triton Road, Bettystown was found in possession of the drugs on July 26th last year.

The court heard that during the course of a search, gardaí found the cannabis, worth approximately € 20, on the living room table.

Judge John Coughlan imposed a fine of € 300 and gave the defendant three months to pay.
