€3.8m drugs seized in Stamullen house raid

ONE man was arrested following a multimilli­on seizure of drugs at an address in Stamullen last week.

The drugs, which included cocaine and cannabis, were seized as part of a planned operation by Gardaí from the Meath Divisional Drugs unit.

A search was carried out at a house at Clinstown, Stamullen shortly before 3pm on Thursday, June 29th last.

Following a search of the house, lands and vehicles present Gardaí discovered a significan­t quantity of drugs.

In total 160kilos of suspected Cannabis herb, approximat­ely 30kgs of suspected Cocaine, and 2.5kgs of suspected Cannabis Resin was seized in this operation.

Garda members from Ashbourne Detective Unit and the Garda Dog Unit assisted in the operation.

Gardaí said the seizure was made following an intelligen­ceoperatio­n and the find is expected to have an impact on drugs activity in the northeast area.

It is estimated that the drugs have a combined worth of €3.8m. A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and was detained at Kells Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Traffickin­g) Act.
