MEMORIES flooded in following the news of Aggie’s death, with many recalling the days when her premises was the place to be!
Writing on Facebook, one fan remarked, ‘will never forget it...I worked in Donaghys Mill and when we worked overtime an order was put into Aggies for chips etc. even when we were not working overtime we would still get chips on the way home...swimming in vinegar.’
‘Happy childhood memories of getting chips here after the Saturday matinee in the Gate Cinema in the 60’s.. best chips in Drogheda served by Aggie.. I remember the little hatch she served them from.. had the pleasure of meeting her about a year or so ago and reminisced about those happy days.
Another wrote, ‘God bless Aggie, a lovely lady and always smiling. Rest in Peace while another summed it up - ‘Still call it Aggie o Briens.’
