Remembering two soldiers

-

I Wonder is there much family detail out there on two soldiers whose 100th anniversary comes up shortly.

Some years ago I visited both of their graves in Belgium. Gerald Casey was a driver in the Royal Field Artillery and he died on July 16 1917. He was 20.

He is buried near Ypes, at Lijssenthoek cemetery and was Son of James and Mary Casey, natives of Annagassan. Terence Duffy was a 25 year old sergeant in the Royal Field Artillery and he died in action in November 1917. He is buried at Bleuet Farm cemetery near Ypres and was son of Terence and Mary Ann Duffy, of 283, Bedford St., Fall River, Mass., U.S.A. He was a native of Drogheda.
