Need for pitches is paramount

I WAS up in Tallaght for the recent Drogs clash with Shamrock Rovers and coming back through the estates that are dotted around the place, it was incredible to see the open green spaces with as many playing pitches as you hope for.

Drive through the biggest town in the country and you’ll find....none.

The overall planning of the estates around Drogheda has been a disaster.

But Grange Rath isn’t much better out on the southside. There is a huge area to the left of the Southgate Shopping Centre, earmarked for more development it seems, when it should be left green, enough room for four or five playing pitches in the future.
