Ardee wants its own engineer

ARDEE Commissioners are to forward a further protest to Louth Council on having an engineer, catering for Ardee and mid-Louth, based In Drogheda.

The vice-chairman, Mr. Malone, described the decision as illogical from the viewpoint that Drogheda had its own engineer (Drogheda Corporation).

He could understand having an engineer In Dundalk for North Louth, as the man there had to look after a district that extended to Cooley, but having the other assistant in Drogheda did not make sense, particularly as his area stretched as far as Tallanstown.
