Dog Safety Workshop

Dogs Trust are hosting a Free Dog Safety Workshop for children aged between seven and 13 on Thursday, July 13th at 11.30am in Drogheda Library.

Those in attendance can learn how to be dog smart with Audrey and Lucy from Dog’s Trust.

Topics that will be covered include what to do if you’re frightened of a dog and how to keep yourself safe around dogs and out and about.

Outdoor theatre

The outdoor theatre events at Oldbridge have become one of the most eagerly anticipate­d annual events at the site and this year’s production­s look set to continue to trend.

Chapterhou­se Theatre Company are returning once again with their stunning adaption of the Charles Dickens classic Great Expectatio­ns on Saturday, July 15th and family favourite The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame on Saturday, August 5th.

Great Expectatio­ns will take place at 6.30pm on Saturday, July 15th showcasing this story of love, family and friendship set in the depths of Victorian England.

From the haunting marshlands of Kent, to the bustling streets of Victorian London, this epic tale follows the fortunes of a young Pip as he falls in love, finds his fortune and makes his way in the world. This beautiful romantic tale is brought to life with traditiona­l music, full period costume and a whole host of colourful characters, from the dangerous convict Magwitch, to the elusive Estella, and of course, the eccentric and mysterious Miss Havisham.

Recommende­d arrival time for both is 5.30pm to allow you to get parked and to find a picnic space. The event will go ahead rain or shine and will start at 6.30pm. Please bring your own rugs or low back seating only, and please do consider the weather when dressing for the event, which is supported by the Battle of the Boyne site and the OPW.
