BFRRS rescue

The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Centre (BFRRS) were deployed last Tuesday, June 27th following reports of a man on the river side of the railings on the Haymarket bridge in Drogheda.

The team quickly assembled and within minutes of the call coming in at 9.34pm a member of the on scene crew trained in Swift Water Rescue had arrived and approached the male on the railings.

In the event of the casualty entering the water additional team members where setting up a swimmer from the bank while awaiting the arrival of the inshore rescue boat.

After a short period of time and following the combined efforts of rescue personnel and Drogheda Gardai, the man was successful­ly removed from the railings.

All units were stood down and returned to their Marsh Road Base where they Cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out.
