Poetryof themaster Ledwidge

SLANE was certainly the place to be last week as the village hosted a week long celebration of the warrior poet Francis Ledwidge.

The entire area really captured the essence of the commemoration, everything from walks to social outings organised.

The promotion of Ledwidge’s poetry is paramont and the Conyngham Arms hosted a schools poetry recital and the overall winner was 10 year old Sarah Woulfe.
