WEEK 2 of the Summer League took place on Monday & Tuesday last. Grade 1 was won by David O’Brien with a score of 44 gross (back 1). The grade 2 winner was Joe Reilly with a score of 49 gross (back 6). Week 3 will be 18 nett. Times of play are Monday & Tuesday evenings @ 6.30.

Congratula­tions to club member Audrey Donnelly who represente­d the Club well in the National Ladies Strokeplay Finals on Saturday. Audrey just missed out on the prizes finishing 4th in the Junior Grade.

The Club’s Annual Noel Gorman Memorial competitio­n also took place at the weekend, and was well supported by club members. The Overall Prize went to David O’Brien. Grade winners were as follow: Ladies Grade was won by Audrey Donnelly. Junior winner was Pat Gorman. The Inter Prize went to Tom Devin and the Senior Grade winner was Barry Thornton.

Presentati­on of prizes took place in the Mariner on Sunday evening, and a great night was had by all.

Seapoint Open Singles will take place this week from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th. Members are encouraged to show your support.

The Club Summer League commenced a fortnight ago and week one was an 18 nett competitio­n. The Grade 1 winner was Ray McKenna with a score of 43 nett (h/c -5), while Grade 2 was won by Dessie Kirwan with 39 nett (h/c -14).

There was no winner of the jackpot in the most recent club lotto draw. The numbers were 3, 13, 17 & 24 and the lucky dip winners were Rita Brady, Olivia Weldon and Peter & Mavis. The jackpot for the draw tonight (Tuesday) stands at €2,050.

Qualifying for the National Strokeplay Championsh­ips took place last Sunday week. Well done to the following MacBride members who qualified for the finals which will take place at the Hillview course in Tipperary in mid-July. Darren Dooley (Junior grade), Ray McKenna (Inter grade), Sean Goggin, George Beardsley & Pádraic Sarsfield (Senior grade).
