Christmas in July - just for warrior Hannah

-

THERE was plenty of festive spirit in Collon at the weekend as a special Christmas in July Family fun walk took place in aid of Hannah Donnelly, the Warrior Princess.

The crowds in attendance donned their santa hats and best Christmas jumpers for the event and there was even a special appearance by the man in red himself!

A sprinkling of rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of everyone taking part and a fantastic day was had by all with the Santa hats and Christmas spirit catching plenty of attention as the fun walk got underway.

Hannah, who was born with the rare genetic condition Apert Syndrome, is currently in ICU in Temple Street following complications from a recent surgery to remove a piece of bone cutting into her spinal cord and faces a long road to recovery.

Hannah is a familiar face throughout Drogheda and beyond thanks to her fundraising efforts and her annual Christmas toy appeal for sick children in hospital and the community is determined to show their support for the Warrior Princess with a number of fundraising events taking place over recent weeks including a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
