Max hoping to sniff out a nice nose win

-

WITH his own Facebook Page, Instagram account and a wardrobe that would be the envy of many of his human counterparts, Max the Maltese already has his fair share of fans.

AND now Max is hoping to add a sash to his attire as he enters Pet Sitters Ireland’s Nose of Tralee 2017 competition.

He may be a 14 year old gentleman - elderly in dog years - but in his head he’s still a playful and enthusiastic puppy, according to owner Rachel Finnegan.

‘I saw the competition on Facebook and I thought Max would be a great candidate,’ said Rachel. ‘He’s an amazing little dog, he thinks he’s a puppy and so does everyone who meets him.’

Max is the apple of his owners eye with Rachel admitting that she and her Mum love to spoil the pooch.

‘ The minute he gives my Mum the look she gives him treats,’ laughs Rachel from Forest Grange. ‘He has over 200 outfits, he has more clothes than I do!’

Explaining how his extensive wardrobe started Rachel said: ‘I bought him a raincoat when he was a puppy just to keep him dry and he loved it. So after that I started buying him little outfits and he just loves them. If you go to him with three tshirts he’ll sniff all of them and pick which one he wants.’

Rachel said Max is hoping to reach the final of the Nose of Tralee competition and wants all his canine loving frieds to go online and give him a vote.

‘Prizes in the competition include a pet sitting and dog walking voucher, a subscription to Scooby Box and a photoshoot with a top doggie photographer.
