BD employee Martin Newell departs for life in the USA
BUSY with preparations for his forthcoming trip to the U.S.A. is Mr. Martin Newell of Maple Drive, Greenhills. In August, Mr. Newell, the popular Quality Control Manager with Becton Dickinson and Company, will leave town to study in the University of Michigan for a two year, full-time Master in Business Administration degree.
The University of Michigan is one of the largest and most highly rated universities in the U.S.A., and is situated at Ann Arbor near Detroit.
Mr. Newell, who is from Annaghdown, Co. Gnlway holds first class honours degree in Chemical Engineering from University College, Dublin. Prior to coming to Becton, Dickinson and Company in 1965, he spent a year training in the Company’s plants in the U.S.A.
Mr. Newell is financing this venture from private funds and is being facilitated by Becton, Dickinson and Company with a leave of absence. He will be joined in Ann Arbor next year by wife, Kathleen and daughter, Brlgid.
