BD employee Martin Newell departs for life in the USA

BUSY with preparatio­ns for his forthcomin­g trip to the U.S.A. is Mr. Martin Newell of Maple Drive, Greenhills. In August, Mr. Newell, the popular Quality Control Manager with Becton Dickinson and Company, will leave town to study in the University of Michigan for a two year, full-time Master in Business Administra­tion degree.

The University of Michigan is one of the largest and most highly rated universiti­es in the U.S.A., and is situated at Ann Arbor near Detroit.

Mr. Newell, who is from Annaghdown, Co. Gnlway holds first class honours degree in Chemical Engineerin­g from University College, Dublin. Prior to coming to Becton, Dickinson and Company in 1965, he spent a year training in the Company’s plants in the U.S.A.

Mr. Newell is financing this venture from private funds and is being facilitate­d by Becton, Dickinson and Company with a leave of absence. He will be joined in Ann Arbor next year by wife, Kathleen and daughter, Brlgid.
