Plenty of time to get ready for the Dip in the Nip in September

-

THERE’S plenty of time to get ready for the North East Dip in the Nip in aid of the North East Cancer Research and Education Trust which takes place in September,

This years Northeast Female only fundraising Dip in the Nip takes place on Sunday September 17 and it’s hoped to beat last year’s record of 127 dippers .

This will be the sixth year that the event has taken place at a secret beach location. For those brave ladies who ‘dare to bare’, the experience is very much about life-affirmation and a celebration of life and bodies of all shapes and sizes.

With all funds raised being used towards improving the treatment and outcomes of people with cancer in the northeast it truly does make a massive and real difference to those fighting cancer.

Among the projects being undertaken by NECRET is the purchase of a gene sequencing machine for the The North East Oncology and Hematology Unit situated in the grounds of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda, This ground-breaking machine is the next generation in cancer treatment, enabling patient treatment plans to be personalized to them. The unit provides oncology services for cancer patients from all over Co Louth and parts of neighbouring Co Meath, saving them the trouble of having to travel to Dublin for treatment,
