Amy’s solid run in Spanish meeint

-

AMY McTeggart bolstered her growing reputation with a solid display in Monzon in Spain at the European Conbined Events.

Amy was named on a six-strong team and flew out shortly after her 21st birthday for the competition.

Unfortunately one of her team mates Sarah Connolly fell in the hurdles and had to withdraw from competition which limited Ireland’s chances.

But the other five went soldiered and Amy did really well, hitting a number of pbs.

In lovely warm sunny conditions she posted a PB in her hurdles, hit 1.69m in the High Jump, 9.72 in the shot and managed another PB in the 200m.

On day two she managed 5.31 in the long jump and hit another PB in the Javelin with 35.44.

Overall Amy added 385 points on to her total score which was a huge PB.

There were no medals for the Irish team this year but it was a wonderful experience.

Kate O’Connor from Dundalk was also on the team and did extremely and will go on to represent Ireland in the European junior Heptathlon in Italy in July.
