Pedestrian Lights issue at Mell school

COUNCILLOR Pio Smith asked what the plans are for the traffic lights are Mell school which are still covered up and not in use despite the fact that they were supposed to be operational over a year and a half ago.

Borough Engineer Pat Finn said the pedestrian crossing was put in by the Department of Education but was never commissioned.

He said the council were going to look at taking the site in charge at this stage and once that goes ahead then the crossing and the lights could be commissioned.
