Death of George Blake, Crewbawn

The passing of Mr. George Blake senior, Crewbawn House, Slane which occurred recently has occasioned much regret over a wide area. The deceased, who had reached an advanced age, was a highly esteemed member of the agricultur­al community. Possessed of an extremely quiet and unassuming dispositio­n he was popular with all who had the pleasure of his acquaintan­ce.

He was a native of Mount Granville Drogheda, but had been in the Slane area for a great many years.

He was predecease­d by his wife and son Mr. Michael Blake, who was killed in a traffic accident last year.

He is survived by one son, Mr. George Blake, the popular local Turf Accountant; his daughter, Mrs. P. Dunne, Kells; Mr. P. Dunne, son-inlaw; Miss Marie Dunne, grandchild; skters and a large number of other relatives.
