The Abbot of Mellifont

The blessing of Dom Gerard Kennedy, O.C.S.O., recently elected Abbot of Mellifont, takes place at the Abbey, with His Eminence, Cardinal ‘Conway officiating.

Representatives of Cistercian Abbeys in Ireland and Great Britain are expected to be present. The ceremony, however, is principally a community event and so will be private in character.
