Keenan to assist manager hunt

-

PADDY Keenan (right) will help Louth chiefs to pick Colin Kelly’s successor after being invited to join a four-man committee charged with finding the next Louth football manager.

The former Reds’ midfielder - and the county’s only ever AllStar - will assists county chairman, Des Halpenny, Vice-chair, Declan Byrne and Treasurer Aidan Berrill in the search for a new boss, following Kelly’s departure last month.

The selection team was proposed by management and ratified by the main county committee last Monday night and is in the process of drawing up a shortlist.

There was controversy at the same meeting last week when Keenan’s fellow Pat’s clubman Paddy Oliver was ordered to leave the room by chairman, Des Halpenny.

Mr Oliver had proposed that the club allocation of All-Ireland final tickets be increased from four to five this year, but the ensuing discussion became heated and former chairman Oliver was ejected from the meeting.
