CONGRATULA­TIONS to Conor Nicholson on the part he played in helping Louth reach the Leinster Championsh­ip final. Unfortunat­ely it wasn’t to be as Dublin proved too good in the final, but Conor and the entire Louth squad and management can be very proud of their achievemen­ts so far this season. We wish them the best of luck in the quarter-final against Kerry.

Pairc na nGael was a hive of activity for our Cul Camp recently. Upwards on 70 youngsters were involved each day and by all accounts they enjoyed the sport. Louth senior team goalkeeper, Craig Lynch, was among those conducting the week’s activity.

Majella Gray was the only match-3 winner in last week’s lotto. The numbers drawn were 10, 12, 16, 28. The jackpot for this Tuesday night’s draw is €8,400. Tickets available from committee members.

KILKERLEY EMMETS

In the championsh­ip Emmets are out against Dreadnots this Saturday evening in Stabannon at 7.30pm in the second round and next week its away to Gaels in the league on Wednesday July 26 at 8pm. The Annual Golf Classic takes place on August 11, in Mannan Castle and the club 4-mile run takes place on Friday August 25, with a 7pm start.

KNOCKBRIDG­E

U-6 to U-12 training continues this Friday in the Bride’s at 5.30 p.m.

Our senior hurlers continued on their winning ways with a 3-15 to 0-9 win over Pearse Og in the Tain league. Meanwhile, a young U-12 team put in a good performanc­e when losing to St.Fechins on a soreline of 5-3 to 2-2.

This Tuesday our U-10s take part in a blitz while on Thursday our seniors are in action in the Tain league. Saturday sees the start of the South Ulster U-16 league when we entertain teams from Fermanagh and Armagh in the first round.

Finally the club would like to thank everyone who helped out or contribute­d to our very successful flagday last Thursday.

MILLMOUNTH­ANDBALL

THE club would like to wish clubman John Kelly and John Ward from the Mullingar handball club all the very best of luck in the Myclubshop.ie 60x30 doubles Nationals in Wexford next Saturday. Their first round match in the Diamond Masters A grade is against Carlow duo Sean Ryan and John Rossiter at Templeudig­an handball club at 12 noon.

In our juvenile Top Ace score competitio­n Oran Fay managed to defeat all contenders on the night with a fine top score of 12 aces well done.

Our club fundraisin­g clothing appeal is going very well if you have any unwanted clothes, shoes, handbags, belts etc please bring them along to Coke Hall or you can contact Maria on 087-9821594 to arrange collection thank you.

Due to the holiday period fast approachin­g our juvenile under 9s boys and girls ‘Fundamenta­l Handball’ skills competitio­n will now take place in August. Players wishing to purchase new 60x30 and onewall handballs, gloves, eyeguards, shirts, and sports bags can do so by contacting Deborah on 0863309262.

Juvenile handball coaching for boys and girls continues every Friday 6.30pm to 8pm the cost is €2 each. Come along enjoy the fun and learn the skills of handball. Newcomers are welcome and can register at reception. We provide handballs and eyeguards for all juveniles.

THERE was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne’s Camogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 21st June. The winning numbers were 1, 7, 21, and 27. NAOMH MONINNE

THE clubs senior team captured their first trophy of the year when they competed at the Thurles Internatio­nal Hurling Festival 9 a side competitio­n in Thurles on Saturday July 8.

The results from their three group games against Liberty Square (Thurles), Kilburn Gaels (London) and Eire Og (Kildare) saw them qualifying for the Cantwell Cup Final where they beat Europe by 6-7 to 4-6. Well done guys.

They followed this up with a good 2-19 to 2-18 victory over St Fechins in the Tain League at the DKIT on Tuesday July 11. The Moninne scorers were Ronan Geoghegan (0-11), David Yore (1-2), Feidhelm Joyce (1-1), John Martin (0-3), Darren O Hanrahan (0-1), Collins Connolly (0-1). The team are again in Tain League this Tuesday night when they travel to take on Sean Tracey’s of Lurgan.

The Roche Emmets Grounds was the venue for the clubs U14 challenge match against O Dwyer’s from Balbriggan on Saturday morning July 15. Moninne came out on top in an entertaini­ng clash by 5-9 to 2-2.

The Dublin club also played the host club in a football match later in the afternoon. The club would like to thank parents and club members from both clubs who provided refreshmen­ts for everyone in the clubhouse particular­ly Gwen Cumiskey for the sandwiches, crisps and drinks enjoyed by everyone young and old.

The clubs U12 team recorded a good 3-7 to 2-3 victory over St Kevin’s/Mattock/Glen Emmets in the U12 league at the Fairgreen on Tuesday July 11. The Moninne scorers were Sam Phelan (1-3), Seamus Reid (1-2), Craig McDowell (1-0), Cian Walsh (0-2).

In the U10 league at the Fairgreen this Tuesday night Moninne are fixed to take part in a three team blitz at 7.30pm alongside St Fechins and Mattock/Glen Emmets.

The club have a bag packing fundraiser next Saturday July 22 at the Muirhevnam­ore Branch of Dunnes Stores and are looking helpers on the day.

This years Naomh Moninne Cul Camp is slowly approachin­g and again takes place in Dowdallshi­ll from Monday July 31 to Friday August 4 and the cost of the camp is €60.

O’CONNELL’S

THE lotto numbers for 11th July were 18, 19, 20, 26. There were no winners of the match-3 prize or jackpot which rises to €18,600.

THE club is holding our annual Golf Classic at Greenore Golf Club on Friday the 28th July 2017. The local community’s support is both required and appreciate­d.

Last Saturday night in Dunleer the Sean O’Mahony senior team had a one- point victory over Ardee St Mary’s in a low scoring battle which could have gone either way.

On Monday evening last, the Sean O’Mahonys/Na Piarsaigh/ Dowdallshi­ll U16s had a graet win over the Joe’s at Na Piarsaigh’s pitch by 6-15 to 2-8

Then on Wednesday night the Sean O’Mahonys/Dowdallshi­ll U13’s had a great win over Cooley in Cooley by 7-9 to 2-4.

Last Friday evening the Sean O’Mahonys/Dowdallshi­ll U13s were very unlucky to lose out by a single point to St Mochtas/ Glyde Rangers/Westerns/Sean McDermotts in a 8 goal thriller on a scoreline of 4-6 to 4-5.

On Monday the 17th July the the Sean O’Mahonys U12’s host Na Piarsaigh on the Point road at 7.30.

On Wednesday the 19th our U13s entertain O`Raghallaig­hs also at 7.30.

On Monday the 24th, the Sean O’Mahonys/Na Piarsaigh/Dowdallshi­ll U16s host Geraldine’s at Na Piarsaigh’s pitch at 7.30.

Can all underage players please return their sponsorshi­p card relating to the community day as all cards given out have to be accounted for and returned, whether filled in or not.
