Soul Sunday show at An Croi, Tullyallen

-

SOUL Sunday Performances take place at An Croí in Tullyallen with local singer/songwriter Carmel Boyle on the last Sunday of each month. Carmel, who has just returned from a series of concerts in the United States, is looking forward to singing songs from her latest recording on Sunday July 30th at 7pm.

‘Mirror of Eternity’ is the title of her new recording which is inspired by the writings of Clare of Assisi. This is a selection of new songs composed by Carmel and a re-recording of some songs from her album ‘ Taste the Hidden Sweetness’ which Carmel originally recorded twenty five years ago with Briege O Hare who is a Poor Clare and with whom Carmel also collaborated for her recording of Celtic prayers some years ago.

Carmel drew on the talent of local music maestro David Leddy, who also played on the original recording, for a fresh interpretation of all the songs on this new inspirational album. The lyrics focus on letters of spiritual direction written by St. Clare of Assisi to Blessed Agnes of Prague, letters full of love and encouragement in the spiritual life.

Carmel is co-founder of An Croí Wisdom Institute with Dr. Geraldine Holton who will also offer some reflections on the life of St. Clare that will throw light on the context of these letters and the unique spirituality of Clare of Assisi who was closely associated with St. Francis of Assisi.

An Croí Wisdom Institute offers a selection of training and enrichment programmes that seek to foster wisdom for personal, professional and spiritual life. There will be light refreshments that evening and there’s a suggested donation of €10 and all are welcome. For further information contact 0419805050 or www. ancroi.ie or email ancroi@eircom.net
